The topic for our next Network Session, which will be held on Sunday 6th November is Cancer and Lifestyle Factors. Do come along and hear of some ways in which the risk of cancer can be lowered through certain lifestyle habits.
The talk will be presented by Dr Wendy Cavilla who works in medical education. She has trained in general practice and has a special interest in rural medicine, women’s health, Aboriginal health and lifestyle medicine. She works with medical students at the University of Western Australia and doctors training for the Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.
Wendy’s son has recently completed cancer treatment for leukaemia, so she has personal experience, together with some medical knowledge about cancer. Some cancers cannot be prevented, but other cancers are strongly linked to lifestyle.
We will also have our usual food demo and tasting sessions. Time: 4pm – 5:30pm;
Venue: Vic Park Hall; Cost: $10 per person. For more info Del on email: firstname.lastname@example.org
